History and Education in Beaumont
There is alot of history, culture and education surrounding the City of Beaumont. During the early 1850s, several surveying parties passed through the area of present-day Beaumont in search of a pass that would connect the east to the Pacific Ocean. The San Gorgonia Pass was discovered in 1853 by a United States government surveying expedition led by Lieutenant R.S. Williamson. The discovery fascinated many who now saw that connecting to the ocean was a possibility. This video presents an overall view of the City of Beaumont California.

The Future of Beaumont

The Future look of downtown Beaumont California is looking better all the time! 

The Beaumont City Council held a workshop on Sept. 16 to discuss future projects, including a proposed downtown area and retail stores.

Community Development Analyst Kyle Warsinski led the hour-long workshop, held before the regular city council meeting. The latest downtown plan would include attractive architecture, be pedestrian-friendly and include mixed-use development to promote safety.


Retail stores would be on the ground floor, with townhomes above the stores. The area the city is looking at is between Wellwood and Palm avenues (west to east) and Fifth to Eighth streets.
